The photographs shot for the Bicentennial edition of Wayne W. Wood’s Jacksonville’s Architectural Heritage display photographer Mark Krancer’s deep love for Jacksonville’s architecture throughout the city. “When I moved to Jacksonville in 2014, I was instantly struck by its beauty, both natural and architectural. From a bike ride in Riverside along the Riverwalk to my job, a passion for landscapes and cityscapes emerged,” notes Krancer. “My lifelong love of history has combined with photography in capturing historic building and landmarks of our region. One of the great honors of my career has been to work with Dr. Wood on his upcoming book about Jacksonville’s Architectural Heritage, for which I have voluntarily shot numerous historic buildings.”
Jacksonville’s Architectural Heritage Photo Exhibit is supported by a grant from the J. Shepard, Jr. and Mary Ann Bryan Arts Endowment held at The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida.
The Bicentennial Edition of Jacksonville’s Architectural Heritage is being funded by the Jessie Ball duPont Fund, the Haskell Foundation, and the Ida M. Stevens Foundation. The hardback, coffee-table book will be available for $64.95.
