Jacksonville History Center Speaker Series: Norman Studios on Jacksonville’s Silent Motion Picture History

Date/Time: Wednesday, August 6, 5:30-7 p.m.
Location: Old St. Andrew’s Church, 317 A. Philip Randolph Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32202
Speaker: Norman Studios Board Member Jim Kerkhoff
Join the Jacksonville History Center for a special evening exploring the legacy of Norman Studios. Founded in 1916, the historic five-building studio complex still stands in Jacksonville’s Old Arlington neighborhood—a rare and powerful reminder of the city’s role in early American cinema. The program will focus on the era when Jacksonville was the “Winter Film Capital of the World,” including the screening of two short films that show Jacksonville more than a century ago. |
