Sponsored by Evergreen Cemetery, the Jacksonville History Center is offering a series of four different walking tours (April, May, September and October) to share the history of our community as written on the tombstones of its major cemetery.

Each Sunday tour date will offer 10 90-minute tours (beginning at 10 a.m., running every half-hour, and ending at 4 p.m.) for 15 visitors per group. Tickets for the Fall Tours will go on sale in August. Tents, chairs, bottled water, hand fans, and toilets will be available at the check-in area. This is a walking tour, so wear comfortable shoes and clothing. The event will not be cancelled for light/brief showers. For weather cancellations, follow us on Facebook (
