In our mission to educate and inspire the greater Jacksonville community to value its history, by fostering understanding of how the region’s past shapes our present, our tours and presentations typically serve 80 to 100 groups throughout the year by offering programs that schools, summer camps, families and organizations can enjoy.
The Merrill House Museum Tour
Explore the fully restored and furnished Eastlake Victorian home adjacent to the Society’s Old St. Andrew’s Church. Showcasing life in Jacksonville during 1903, the tour offers an educational and entertaining walk through local turn-of-the-century history. The museum tour also functions as a major component of the Society’s annual Gingerbread Extravaganza, open for tours on the half hour during Extravaganza event hours.
To schedule a Merrill House Museum Tour Monday through Friday between 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., please call our office at (904) 665-0064 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Gingerbread Extravaganza, a local holiday tradition, showcases gingerbread and confection creations by amateurs and professionals. Often called the “most creative art show in Jacksonville,” gingerbread builders select themes ranging from a whimsical holiday surprise, historical landmarks and, of course, the holidays are featured!
